Reustle

Dr. Joey Reustle is a marine community ecologist and assistant professor at Hampton University in the department of marine and environmental science. Joey’s research interests include community ecology, species-interactions (especially predator-prey and host-parasite), and food web ecology. He works primarily on oyster reefs, spending much of the last 10 years working on reefs between the Gulf of Mexico and Mid-Atlantic regions. Dr. Reustle is currently working on projects to understand how urbanization and restoration affect community structure and food webs of Chesapeake Bay oyster reefs. Dr. Reustle was born and raised in Vallejo, CA and attended graduate school at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi before making his way to NC for his postdoc and VA for his faculty position at Hampton University.
