Bill Dennison has a marine biology background, with a specialization in the ecophysiology of marine plants. He has studied Chesapeake Bay submerged aquatic vegetation for several decades, but more recently developed an interest in the nexus of social and natural science. He has served as Vice President for Science Application at the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science for 23 years.
