Dr. KC Filippino is a Senior Water Resources Planner at the Hampton Roads Planning District Commission, where she leads regional efforts related to stormwater, TMDLs, and Chesapeake Bay restoration. With a Ph.D. in Oceanography from Old Dominion University, she brings over a decade of experience connecting applied science with local government implementation. Dr. Filippino actively contributes to the Chesapeake Bay Program through technical workgroups and leadership roles, including past chair of the Land Use Workgroup and current representative to the Urban Stormwater Workgroup and Water Quality Goal Implementation Team. Her expertise bridges scientific research, environmental policy, and regional planning for localities in coastal Virginia.
