Chesapeake 2000 Agreement
On June 28, 2000, the Chesapeake Bay Program partners signed the new Chesapeake 2000 Agreement, which will guide the next decade of restoration and protection efforts throughout the Bay watershed. The agreement commits to protecting and restoring living resources, vital habitats and water quality of the Bay and its watershed.

Saving a National Treasure: Financing the Cleanup of the Chesapeake Bay
On October 27, 2004, the Chesapeake Bay Watershed Blue Ribbon Finance Panel called on Bay states and the federal government to create a financing authority, and outlines specific recommendations for financing pollution reductions from agriculture, municipal and industrial wastewater treatment, development and air deposition.
